Wouldn’t it be great sometimes to chop that never ending “to do” list and just simply find more time for yourself? It’s a great time of year flick through your wardrobes and shoe racks, try on some old pieces and pack others for the charity shop. Your style, your hair colour, your beautiful accessories and clothing all combine to make you feel comfortable and pretty.
It sounds a bit like spring clean? Maybe, but when it is still dark and gloomy, and we can hide under warm and cosy winter coats it is a great opportunity to stop and spend some time on yourself 🙂
But most importantly – think about your clothes differently. It is not what is in fashion this season that we feel is the most important thing to consider; it is the shape, fabric, colours and patterns or even ethical brand values that makes you feel great about yourself wearing it. It is the versatility that will allow you to dress it up or down to various occasions. It is the elegance or simple casual sweetness, that will make you feel great. Clothes are the instruments that help us to send a message about who we are and how we feel about ourselves and the world around us. Your clothes reflect your personality and helps to hide our ‘minuses’ and enhance our ‘pluses’.
Each year brands release their new collections earlier in the season. It seems too early sometimes but this does give us enough time to honestly think about how we actually would like to look this coming spring and summer. It gives you time consider changes to your style, adding colours to your existing spring wardrobe, planning holidays wardrobes or maybe simply indulging in a fun and comfortable pair of spring shoes?
If wondering through the shops does not feel like your thing at the moment, you can find it all on-line. Settle down with a cosy cup of tea on a gloomy evening, browse through the new collections, outfit suggestions, colours and prints.
Or… if you do like to get out to the shops you can feel the fabrics and seeing styles in daylight. Trying them on with different accessories and getting advice from the girls at the shop is a different shopping experience to shopping on-line but you do need to make the journey. Ultimately it’s all down to your individual preference.
Take some time to think about yourself and give it your best shot this spring not only to look, but also to feel fabulous as well.
